The Danish actor and director Paprika Steen, born in 1964, is a central figure in Danish cinema and was significantly involved in the Dogme 95 movement. She acted in early key works such as "The Celebration" (1998) and "The Idiots" (1998). Her acting work has received numerous awards, including the Silver Seashell in San Sebastián for "That Time of Year" (2018) and the Best Actress award at the Karlovy Vary festival for "Applause" (2009). In addition to her work in front of the camera, Steen also directs, as with the aforementioned "That Time of Year" or "Fathers and Mothers" (2022). For her role in "Tove's Room" (2023), she received a nomination for the European Film Award.
