Paul Rudd (born April 6, 1969 in Passaic, New Jersey) is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer. He became known for films such as Clueless (1995, directed by Amy Heckerling), The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005, directed by Judd Apatow), and I Love You, Man (2009, directed by John Hamburg). He played a highly acclaimed role in PRINCE AVALANCHE (2013, directed by David Gordon Green), a quietly comical road movie in which he plays a reclusive road marker in a fire-ravaged Texas landscape. The film was shown at the Berlinale in 2013, where the director won the Silver Bear for Best Director.
He had other prominent roles in Ant-Man (2015, directed by Peyton Reed), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018, directed by Peyton Reed), and Avengers: Endgame (2019, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo). On television, he appeared as Mike Hannigan in Friends (2002–2004, various directors) and received a Golden Globe nomination for his dual role in Living with Yourself (2019, directed by Dean Parisot et al.). He also appeared in Only Murders in the Building (since 2023, various directors) as a supporting actor and was nominated for an Emmy for his performance.
His awards include a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series (for Parks and Recreation, 2012) as well as honors such as Man of the Year from Hasty Pudding Theatricals (2018), a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (2015), and being named Sexy Man Alive by People Magazine (2021). He has also received nominations for Golden Globes, Emmys, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
