mt-title

Tom and Ajani, two young queer men, leave behind their restrictive lives in a small Dutch village and move to promising Amsterdam. Here they find both friendship and complex challenges. Suddenly, their relationship is put to the test everywhere in the pulsating nightlife of the big city, during playful nights at home, crazy limousine rides, and, last but not least, amid the steam clouds in the local sauna. OUT accompanies this journey with immediacy and a gaze that respectfully reveals the intimacy of queer self-discovery. Director Dennis Alink, known for his documentaries, ventures into feature film with a minimalist but emotionally powerful debut. The film has been shown at major festivals worldwide, including Frameline48: San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival (premiere on June 25, 2024), NewFest in New York, Chéries-Chéris in Paris, LesGaiCineMad in Madrid, and the Schwule Filmwoche Freiburg. OUT won the award for best feature film at the East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival. With its themes of queer identity, self-acceptance, and first love, this coming-of-age story strikes a universal chord.
