The film gives the abstract crime statistics a human face. But with an unusual trick: all interview partners wear skin-colored masks. A look into the eyes of the victims is enough to make the horror tangible.
And even the perpetrators are granted their humanity when they talk about atrocities that have also left their mark on them.
