When actress Maria Rodríguez Soto got pregnant, her partner David Verdaguer was shooting a movie with Director Carlos Marques-Marcet. The three of them decided to turn this real life experience into a movie. Despite the very intimate subject matter, THE DAYS TO COME also addresses issues of social origins, sexuality, memory, and gender expectations. Living next door to the couple during the one and a half years of shooting, Marques-Marcet succeeded in creating an “intelligent and brilliant feature, which penetrates to the depths of the soul.” (El Mundo)
