As reports of shark sightings create panic in a small beach town, 14-year-old Rosina begins to circle her own prey as her intense attraction to an older co-worker grows.
To knock some sense into his troublesome daughter, Rosina's father compels her to work for his landscaping company. On the job, she starts to fancy her co-worker Joselo.
Against the backdrop of a tourism-dependant Uruguayan beach town, who's population ignores the looming threat, awkward anti-heroine Rosina tries her luck with Joselo.
"The female gaze burns in THE SHARKS, a simmering hormonal cauldron of early adolescent emotional isolation." (The Hollywood Reporter)
