Silvio Soldini

The Italian-Swiss director and screenwriter Silvio Soldini, born in Milan in 1958, completed his film education in New York. He celebrated his international breakthrough with the comedy *Bread and Tulips* (2000), which won nine David di Donatello Awards, including one for Best Director. His subsequent works also garnered significant attention; for instance, his drama *Come Undone* (2010) competed at the Berlin International Film Festival. Soldini's filmmaking is characterized by a precise observation of human relationships, which is also evident in films such as *Days and Clouds* (2007) and *Emma* (2017).
